On 21th July 2016 in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, the Binh Thuan Provincial Programme Unit (PPMU) held the provincial consultation workshop on the Sustainable Forest Management Plan of Binh Thuan Forestry One Member Limited Liability Company for the period 2016-2021. Mr. Ho Thien Dang – Director of Department of Forestry, Deputy Director of Binh Thuan PPMU hosted the workshop. The participants in the workshop included representatives of the Management Board of UN-REDD+ Viet Nam Phase II; representatives of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Forestry, Department of Forest Protection, District Department of Forest Protection, District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, District Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Binh Thuan Forestry One Member Limited Liability Company and Binh Thuan PPMU.
At the workshop, the participants listened to presentations on the draft plan and basically agreed with the layout, contents, solutions and implementation arrangement of the plan; At the same time, the participants also contributed opinions to ensure the plan will be built on the principles and criteria under the Circular No. 38/TT-BNN dated 11th March 2014 of MARD and to achieve objectives towards forest certification for area of 18.145 ha, contributing to improving the forest cover, enhancing the protection function, protecting the environment, creating jobs and increasing incomes contributing socio-economic development in the local.
Earlier, on 19-20th July 2016, the Binh Thuan Forestry Company had also conducted consultation workshops of stakeholders at commune and district levels on the draft plan for sustainable forest management to the Company before proceeding to the provincial level consultation workshop.
The sustainable forest management plan for the period 2016-2021 of the Binh Thuan Forestry Company will be completed and submitted to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development before 26th July 2016. Previously, with the support of the UN-REDD+ Viet Nam Phase II, the two sustainable forest management plans of the Protection Forest Management Boards of Le Hong Phong and Song Quao were built and summited to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for approving.
