VNFOREST has its proposal to set up VRF commented

Today (10/10/2014), the Viet Nam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST) hosted a workshop to consult concerned stakeholders about its draft proposal on establishing the Viet Nam REDD+ Fund (VRF). Participants comes from various ministries, national agencies and international organisations.

Today (10/10/2014), the Viet Nam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST) hosted a workshop to consult concerned stakeholders about its draft proposal on establishing the Viet Nam REDD+ Fund (VRF). Participants comes from various ministries, national agencies and international organisations.

Nguyen Ba Ngai, VNFOREST Deputy Director General, highlighted that the workshop marked a new step toward the establishment of the Viet Nam REDD+ Fund. It also proves the country’s readiness to full implementation of REDD+.

Meanwhile, Pham Hong Luong, Deputy Head of Planning and Finance Department under VNFOREST, presented an overview of the whole progress toward the establishment of the Viet Nam REDD+ Fund as well as new revisions in the draft proposal which was sent out for commenting in this workshop.

Partipants from various ministries like the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as well as related departments under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, VNFOREST, Viet Nam Forest Protection and Development Fund, Norweigian Embassy to Viet Nam and international organisations discussed and made comments directly to the draft proposal.

In his closing speech, Nguyen Ba Ngai appreciated all comments on the draft proposal from participants and requested that members of the drafting team noted down and feedbacked these comments as well as revised the proposal if necessary.
