Objective: This case study of Binh Son village in Vienam aims to prove that the consolidation and maintenance of knowledge, customary laws and traditional practices of indigenous peoples living in and near the forests will help ensure the success of REDD+. This supports efforts to help mitigate the negative impacts of climate change and sustains and enhances the sustainable livelihoods of the indigenous communities. Indigenous peoples can thus affirm that they are the best managers and protectors of their forests and are, at the same time, active actors in combating climate change.
